Filmmaker Danny Boyle's movie "Slumdog Millionaire" won eight Oscar awards for best feature film,direction,original song,original score,sound mixing,editing,adapted screenplay and cinematography.Music composer A.R.Rahman,who won the Academy Awards for best original score and song for the film,said,"I want to thank everyone.The essence of the film is optimism and hope.all through my life I had the choice of love and hate....I chose love and Iam here."Resul Pookuttty,also from India,won the Oscar for best sound mixing,along with two others.Another film,"Smile Pinki",with an Indian connection Won the best documentary short Oscar.The 39-minute documentary is on a eight-year-old Indian girl born with a cleft lip.
